Viking Mariners Sea School
Viking Mariners has developed a strong team of trainers in Leadership, Management and team building and can now offer an associated programme of courses and learning to deliver first class RYA training.
We have proudly joined forces with ‘Martin Hubbard Power Boating’ and ‘Mark Lewis of Shearwater Sailing School’ as existing RYA Training Centres to create an unparalleled offering on the East Coast with a chief Instructor to lead in both Sail and Motor Boating.
We are offering these services to both new or existing corporate and private clients wishing to progress to RYA qualifications and those still to experience the Viking Mariners approach to Personal Development.
They in turn are supported by a cadre of experienced, qualified RYA instructors to ensure you only get the best.
Our own Beverley Lloyd (get a life, get a raincoat) joined that team after qualifying as an RYA cruising instructor, meaning we can also offer all female courses.

This new approach to RYA training on the River Orwell and indeed around the East Coast, offers excellence and better value by building on our existing skills and those of our partners in both sail and motor boat training.

All vessels are coded in accordance with MCA regulations, maintained to first class standards and carry appropriate marine and public liability insurance.

If you have your own boat, we are happy to discuss your training needs and tailor tuition to suit you.
Shore Based Courses
Shore based training is run in adjoining premises on the Ipswich Waterfront utilising state of the art multimedia facilities, includes refreshments and where requested meals can also be provided.
We can also offer concessions at the luxurious boutique Salthouse Hotel for those wishing to stay overnight or for the weekend.

We can also offer training and adventure sailing at recognised levels using our fully coded vessels and qualified Skippers.
Amongst our vessels we operate the blue water fast cruiser ‘Viking Blue’ which can average speeds of 8 - 9 knots. This provides an ideal platform for the more competent sailor who is seeking adventure offshore or to rapidly progress through RYA qualifications.
Viking Mariners offer this personal service for the more discerning, with a spirit of adventure and in a style that reflects the high standards we set.
