We are planning a four day trip to Newport, Belgium from 26 – 29 August on our catamaran Alchemy. This long weekend is designed to provide day and night experience over 200 nmiles which are all eligible for your log book and typically are shaped as follows:
A lunchtime start on the Friday followed by briefing, yacht familiarisation, crew work up, watch allocation and passage planning, supper and then a night sail across to Belgium with rotating watches giving 12 – 16 hours sailing time arriving between 9am – midday depending on wind conditions. So, this provides a stunning introduction to night sailing across the North Sea and seeing the sun come up early on a summers day as we cross the busy traffic separation scheme( TSS) at first light. This first provides ample opportunity for everyone for practical navigation and practical use of Alchemy’s comprehensive systems & instruments
The Saturday afternoon evening is spent ashore on Nieuwport followed by Dinner in one of our carefully selected local restaurants.
An early start on the Sunday morning kicks off the last day with an approx. 12 – 16 hour day sail back arriving back in the UK on the Sunday evening with a probable stopover in the River Blackwater place dependant on conditions.
Monday morning sees the crew up for a local cruise back to Ipswich arriving mid – late afternoon.
This schedule is of course subject to change due to tide/weather combinations.
Priced at £465pp (based on 6 persons) – fees include Skipper & Mate, Vessel Charter contribution, Fuel, Marina Fees, all food, tea, coffee etc taken aboard and wet weather clothing if required.
